God: There is only one living, eternal God who exists in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
The Bible is the inspired, living, Word of God to us today. Understanding the Word is essential for spiritual growth and our faithful walk with Christ.
Humanity: Every person is born with a God given purpose. However, we have alienated ourselves from God's will by 'doing our own thing.' This attitude, which the Bible calls sin, negatively affects our thoughts, attitudes and actions as is so evident in our world. To restore our broken relationship with God requires a spiritual rebirth through Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ: God came in the flesh, in history, in Jesus Christ. His life, teachings, sacrificial death on the cross and physical resurrection offers every person who trusts in Him the way to be reconciled to God. It is by faith alone, in God's amazing grace, that we can be spiritually reconnected with God and find our gifts and purpose in serving Christ and others.
Church: The church is the Body of Christ in the world. We exist to be witnesses and servants of God's love in this region and beyond.
OUR HISTORY
Second Baptist Church founded in 1822 has reached its 200th anniversary. We are congregationally led, self-governed and affiliated with American Baptist Churches, USA. We are grateful for the faithfulness of the generations who have come before us and look forward to making a difference for Christ in our generation.
